Andrew Myers, PhD, PE, Associate Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Northeastern University.
Dr. Myers discusses the great potential of offshore wind farms as a major source of renewable energy. Although a number of European countries have built offshore wind farms, the U.S. has been slow to develop this resource. We learn about the huge energy production of offshore wind farms, and why the east coast of the US is considered one of the best locations in the world for these wind farms. We also hear about the design of wind turbines and numerous other interesting details. Dr. Myers and colleagues at NEU are very much committed to deploying this important energy resource.
