New Ways of Imaging the Brain

Science for the Public: Working Science mini-documentary series, August 16, 2018

Alan Jasanoff, Ph.D., Professor of Biological Engineering, Brain & Cognitive Sciences, Nuclear Science & Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology; Director of the MIT Center for Neurobiological Engineering. Dr. Jasanoff is also affiliated with the McGovern Institute for Brain Research at MIT. He is also the author of The Biological Mind (2018), a book for general readers.

We visit the Jasanoff Lab to learn from Dr. Jasanoff and several of the research associates in his lab about the innovative approaches used there that are leading to better ways to image the brain. Better imaging will lead to greater understanding of brain function. Featured are uses of chemistry and nanotechnology to develop sophisticated imaging.
