Meet Maria Petrova, PhD
Maria Petrova, Ph.D. Post-Doctoral Research Fellow, Center for International Environment and Resource Policy Tufts University, and Associate at the Davis Center, Harvard University, gave a SftPublic presentation on Public Acceptance of Wind Energy Massachusettson May 14, 2013.
Dr. Petrova received her Ph.D. in Environmental Science from Oregon State University in 2010. Her research in Oregon focused on public response to wave energy technology, an important form of renewable energy in the Northwest. The focus of her research in both wind and wave energy is the impact of public opinion on the implementation of renewable energy policies. She also addresses the factors that shape public opinion.
Dr. Petrova brings to her public opinion research a background in public relations and marketing (MA, BA degrees). She also does comparative research on renewable energy policies in the US and the EU. She won first place at the International Conference on Ocean Energy (ICOE) in Spain in 2010.
